Based on a conversation recorded by the Conversation Partner of MOOEC (a free online AI-powered English language learning tool) in October 2014; This video is a literal interpretation of a real conversation between two human-like intelligent agents, the Grammar Guru and Cleverbot Evie. The piece satirizes the phenomena of ineffective communication between autonomous intelligent agents and finds humor in their inability to “understand” each other’s context. The actors perform the dialogues in two different ways. The former tries to resemble the original bot mechanism; as artificial creatures with a limited range of facial and vocal expression. The second shows them as human beings, interpreting dialogue as a human would, with a natural range of emotions. The montage merges these two modes of execution, to contrast the juxtaposition between the human-similar and the human.
