Why look? Why look from a distance? MIRADAS is a voyeuristic journey and dialogue by an outsider living in Buenos Aires. Looking at her neighbors, the artist uses looking and text to interrogate divisions and collisions between the public and private space; between the quotidian and the theatrical; and between spectatorship and contemplation. The distance inherent to voyeurism, to foreignness, be it virtual or physical, provides a void that makes space for fantasy, projection, and meditation. It is a space of contention and inflection where we can contemplate the life of the other and, at the same time, see ourselves.
