I personaggi del film sono persi. Non sanno, ma cercano di apparire come se lo sapessero. Il luogo del non sapere è scomodo e spaventoso. C’è un salto nel vuoto da fare. Per lo spettatore questo è possibile solo se si sente al sicuro con il film. Ciò pone un’asticella elevata per il regista. Devono essere abbastanza coraggiosi da fare il salto per primi. Altrimenti il pubblico non seguirà.

The characters of the film are lost. They do not know, but they attempt to appear as if they do. The place of not-knowing is uncomfortable and scary. There is a leap of faith to be taken. For the viewer this is possible only if they feel safe with the film. That sets a high bar for the film maker. They need to be brave enough to make the leap first. Or else the audience will not follow.
