Tre persone, una donna e due uomini, si ritrovano a fine inverno in una vecchia dimora di caccia.
Con loro c’è un’altra donna. Devono portare a termine l’Opera. Hermaphrodito, titolo del primo libro di Savinio, è l’unione alchemica degli opposti, ed anche il processo con cui è fatto il film. La dimora di caccia è vaso ermetico, dove l’ebreo, nuovo Ermete, compie la trasformazione. Il film comincia a fine inverno con la Nigredo, la morte e decomposizione. A primavera inizia l’Opera alchemica con la Viriditas la raccolta del liquido verde per giungere all’Albedo e Rubedo…. Distillazione del liquido rosso. Poi il passaggio della Cauda Pavonis dove compare una vasta gamma di colori… La notte prima della formazione dell’Hermaphrodito. Luca Delfini
