Stefano Croci

Stefano Croci (1984) graduated in Art History and later specialized in Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Bologna. He has been involved in musical composition since 2000, performing with various ensembles in Italy and across Europe. During this period, he began his exploration of photography and cinema, which led him to found his own production company.
He has held multiple artistic roles in the film industry, including director, director of photography, and producer, working on major auteur films presented at international festivals. His latest work as a director, the feature-length documentary on the Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa, Il Padiglione sull’Acqua (2023), is an Italy–Netherlands–United Kingdom co-production supported by MIC – Ministry of Culture (Selective Funding), Veneto Film Commission, and the Netherlands Film Fund / Creative Industries Fund NL.
The film was presented at, among others, the Biografilm Festival, the Rotterdam Architecture Film Festival, and the Architecture and Design Film Festival (USA), later winning the award for Best Art Feature Film at the 41st Asolo Art Film Festival.
