Silvia Grandi

A confirmed researcher at the University of Bologna since 2005, she carries out her research in the field of contemporary art history. She teaches “Phenomenology of Contemporary Art” and “Phenomenology of Applied Arts” in the Master’s Degree in Visual Arts and “Visual Studies” in the Master’s Degree CITEM–Cinema, Television and Media Productions. Her research interests are directed in particular at the artistic panorama of the 20th century, with particular attention to the synergies present in recent decades between the various experimental areas of visual and sound, specifically the evolution of the language of video art and performance. At the same time, she curates and organizes exhibitions and events within the departmental activities, often in collaboration with public and private bodies. Author of publications on the connections between art and fashion in the 20th century, on video art and on issues relating to artistic production in recent decades. Since 2006 he has been part of a research group that annually proposes the Videoart Yearbook Review, now in its eighteenth edition, in which the most interesting video productions of the last year by Italian artists are presented. Since 2014 he has also directed the online series “ARTYPE. Aperture sul contemporaneo” published by the Department of Arts.
