Fangio: Courage or Destiny follows a young boy confronted with his future and the decisions he must make to fulfil his destiny. Inspired by the 1955 Formula 1 Grand Prix in Argentina, where Juan Manuel Fangio endured third-degree burns to his leg in order to win the race.

The film tackles how sometimes we face life-changing decisions—decisions you know will hurt, will be hard, may even break you, but in your heart and soul you know you must take them. These decisions are not an option if you want to keep moving forward. I have always admired people driven by passion, commitment and effort. They have influenced me with their work ethic and dedication to their craft—people who felt a moral duty, almost an ethical obligation, toward themselves. Juan Manuel Fangio was one of them. My favourite films—shorts, features, documentaries—are the ones that keep me thinking afterwards, questioning my life and/or inspiring me. I hope this film does the same for those who work hard with passion and commitment toward a goal that doesn’t feel like an option.
