Federico Greco

Jury President – Filmmaker, lecturer, and essayist, he has alternated for over thirty years between his work as an author, director, and editor of feature films, documentaries, and series, and teaching cinema.
In addition to several narrative short films presented in competition at international festivals, and directing programs and documentaries for SKY and RAI, he has worked as a director and author for television and cinema on:
Stanley and Us, 1999–2001 (a docuseries on Stanley Kubrick, for RAISAT Cinema and international distribution by RaiTrade);
The Mystery of Lovecraft, 2005 (a feature-length horror mockumentary, winner of Fantafestival 2005, distributed by 01, Minerva, and Paramount).

As director, author, and editor:
Stanleyandus, 2022–2025 (remounted and remastered docuseries, available on Prime UK and USA);
PIIGS, 2017 (feature-length documentary, with Claudio Santamaria and Willem Dafoe);
Once Upon a Time in Italy, 2023 (feature-length documentary, with Roger Waters, Ken Loach, and Peppino Mazzotta);
Public Education, 2026 (feature-length documentary).

PIIGS, Once Upon a Time in Italy, and Public Education have been distributed theatrically, in cinemas, on television, home video, and platforms (RAI, Prime Video, RaiPlay, Apple TV, CGTV, TeleSUR, Russia Today, Means.TV…). His feature films have also been presented at numerous international festivals.

He has published five essays on cinema, including Star Wars – The Poetics of George Lucas (La nave di Teseo), Cinema and Power – Reading Propaganda in the History of Hollywood Cinema (Poets & Sailors), and Stanley and Us (Lindau, later Art Digiland) on Stanley Kubrick.
He has taught cinema (directing/screenwriting) at Sapienza University of Rome, the Academy of Fine Arts of Perugia, and Link Campus University. He has written about cinema as a journalist and critic for major Italian publications and runs a vlog for OttolinaTV (“Desaparecinema”).
